According to police reports, a silver Dodge Dakota was traveling south on Blue Ridge Boulevard when a green Subaru Forester, heading north on Eastern Avenue, entered the intersection without yielding to a stop sign. The Subaru struck the left side of the Dodge Dakota, resulting in a violent impact that caused the Dakota to rotate and collide with a curb, subsequently hitting a metal light pole before overturning.
The front-seat passenger in the Dodge Dakota was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Dakota was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently listed in critical condition. Both individuals in the Dodge Dakota were not using seatbelts at the time of the crash. Fortunately, the driver and rear-seat child passenger of the Subaru Forester did not suffer any injuries.
