CEPS Foundation Launches Landmark June Events Celebrating Justice, Heritage & Global Connection
Kansas City, KS – June 2025 — Lisa R. King, Founder & CEO of the Charles Edward Pope Sr. (CEPS) Foundation, is proud to announce a powerful series of June events in Kansas City, Kansas. These initiatives honor the Pope family’s trailblazing legacy and expand the Foundation’s mission to inspire change, educate, and promote healing in communities.
📅 Key Events:
• International Business Brunch
An exclusive gathering linking local entrepreneurs with Cambodian Master Club CEOs. Focused on EB‑5 investment, real estate, franchising, e‑commerce, tech startups, green industry, and education—all set within the context of the Pope family’s heritage and global outreach.
• Faith Night
A communal evening at 1800 Washington Blvd. featuring inspirational programming and spiritual reflections aimed at deepening community unity and honoring the Pope ancestors' strength.
• Veterans/Senior “Never Forgotten” Program
Co-hosted with the brunch, this program recognizes veterans and senior citizens with educational workshops, ceremonies, and intergenerational support—embodying the Pope family’s service legacy.
• Royal Emancipation Gala – June 14, 2025
Held at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, the Emancipation Celebration honors the historic first Writ of Emancipation secured by the Pope family in Quindaro, Kansas. It is an elegant evening of storytelling, tribute, and recognition of global dignitaries and business leaders.
A Family’s Enduring Legacy in Action
Under Lisa King’s stewardship, the Pope family story—from the 1860 emancipation battle in Kansas to service in the Civil War and local civil service roles—continues to inspire CEPS programming. The events amplify the Foundation’s vision: igniting conversations, providing education, and fostering healing in both the local and international stage.
A Modern Harmony: Honoring Larysa Jaye
While the spotlight remains on CEPS events, the legacy of Lisa King’s niece—the late country‑soul artist Larysa Jaye—resonates deeply. On June 5, Nashville proclaimed “Larysa Jaye Day” during CMA Fest, honoring her cultural impact and inclusive artistry. Her life and voice continue to inspire the Foundation’s mission to uplift marginalized communities and celebrate diverse heritage.
