Honoring Those Who Served on Behalf of a Grateful Nation
“Remembering Is Part of the Healing”
Remembering is Part of the Healing:
Kansas City, MO – Memorial Park Cemetery, the largest cemetery in Kansas City, at 8251 Hillcrest Rd. in Kansas City, MO, will host its first-ever Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Presented in partnership with Park Lawn Funeral Home, this special event is dedicated to honoring all veterans—regardless of when they passed or where their services were held.
This meaningful gathering invites families and friends to participate in a Remembrance Wreath Ceremony, during which attendees may speak the name(s) of the veteran(s) they are honoring and place a poppy in their memory. The poppy, a symbol of sacrifice and remembrance, represents our collective gratitude and commitment to never forget.
“Memorial Day is not just a day off—it’s a moment to remember those we love and have lost, and to pay tribute to the men and women who have defended our freedoms,” said Phil Zehms, General Manager of Memorial Park Cemetery. “It’s our responsibility to continue this tradition in our community—creating a sanctuary for remembrance, healing, and honor.”
Memorial Park Cemetery has proudly served the Kansas City metro area for more than 102 years, providing compassionate, high-quality care to families before, during, and after loss. The staff is dedicated to helping create meaningful moments that support healing and celebrate lives well-lived.
