The federal indictment, issued by a grand jury, includes ten Mexican Nationals, one Guatemalan national, and two U.S. citizens. The specific charges against these individuals include conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, alien in possession of firearms, felon in possession of firearms, and illegal reentry of previously removed aliens.

Investigation and Seizures

The investigation into this trafficking operation began in January 2024 and continued through June 2025. During this extensive investigation, law enforcement officials seized approximately 40 kilograms of methamphetamine, two kilograms of cocaine, and 11 firearms. A coordinated law enforcement operation on June 18, 2025, resulted in the arrest of nine individuals, while three others associated with the case were already in custody.

In addition to the initial seizures, the law enforcement operation also led to the confiscation of nine additional firearms from the arrested individuals. The combined efforts of more than 12 different law enforcement agencies were crucial in the successful crackdown on this trafficking ring.

Law Enforcement Involvement

A diverse array of agencies participated in the investigation, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Postal Service, Internal Revenue Service, and various local law enforcement agencies from northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas.

Potential Sentences

Several of the individuals indicted in this operation could face severe penalties, including potential life sentences, reflecting the serious nature of the crimes involved. The case will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Megan A. Baker and Heather Siegele, who will oversee the legal proceedings against the accused parties.
