Last season, the championship title was secured by the St. Thomas Aquinas Saintes, who defeated Sumner Academy with a score of 32-20. Coaches from the FLAG Football teams may also be nominated for the Kansas City Chiefs High School Coach of the Week Award, with four Kansas FLAG Football coaches receiving nominations during the previous season.

In April 2025, the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) reported that nearly 74% of survey respondents supported girls FLAG Football as an emerging sport in the state. Currently, Kansas is one of 17 states operating pilot programs for girls FLAG Football, with 17 schools having officially sanctioned it as a varsity sport.

The Kansas City Chiefs are committed to expanding participation in girls FLAG Football at all levels. Nationwide, over 100 colleges and universities offer FLAG Football as either a club or varsity sport, and more than 65 NCAA-affiliated schools currently maintain FLAG Football programs. Notably, Alabama State became the first Division I Historically Black College and University (HBCU) to provide scholarships for FLAG Football.

FLAG Football is recognized as the fastest-growing youth sport in the U.S. and is scheduled to become an Olympic sport in 2028. Approximately 2.4 million kids under the age of 17 play organized FLAG Football across the United States. The NFL FLAG program alone boasts over 1,600 teams represented in all 50 states.
