Kansas City – The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) is conducting an investigation into a double homicide that took place on Saturday evening at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of Troost Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the area following reports of a shooting where two individuals were reported to have been shot.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered an adult male victim who was unresponsive on the front porch of an apartment building. Inside one of the apartment units, officers found an adult female victim, also unresponsive. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned to the location; both victims were subsequently declared dead.
At this time, KCPD homicide detectives are actively investigating the incident. According to preliminary reports, detectives are not searching for any additional suspects in relation to this case. As of yet, the identities of the victims have not been released by the authorities, and the police department is working closely with Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime.
