KANSAS CITY, Mo. — In Kansas City, Chiefs fans heading to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday can bring more than tickets. The club is staging its 60th Toys for Tots collection at the home game against the New York Jets, continuing a long partnership with the United States Marine Corps.

Supporters are asked to bring unused toys that are still in their packaging, intended for children from newborns through age 16. Cash gifts can be handed to Marines stationed at each gate, and toy drop boxes will sit at every Arrowhead entrance. Parking lots are scheduled to open at 7:30 a.m., stadium gates at 10 a.m., and the collection lasts from 7:30 a.m. through the end of the first quarter, so early arrivals have the widest window to drop something off.

Team officials say this is the longest uninterrupted partnership of its kind between an NFL franchise and a branch of the military. Everything collected is meant for families in Kansas City, to ease the cost of holiday gifts rather than going somewhere else.

People who are not attending the game can give online or take items to Scheels at 6503 W 135th St STE 88 in Overland Park, a drop-off that has been open since Nov. 1. Anyone who cannot carry a physical toy can still contribute money online, and those gifts are used to buy presents for local families.

Sunday’s collection lands on the same afternoon the Chiefs host the Jets at Arrowhead, so fans already planning to be at the stadium can combine kickoff with a stop at the donation tables. The Marines will be at the gates to take cash, and the marked boxes at each entrance are the place for wrapped-free toys. The drive has now reached its 60th year, a mark the team is marking by asking the crowd to help stock holiday gifts for children across the city.
